Growing up in the family business ensured that Bobby Shen (OW2003) had years of experience to draw upon when he acquired the beautiful and historic resort, Peppers Mineral Springs Hotel at Daylesford, in the heart of Victoria’s spa country.
Bobby is no stranger to hard work but it was a bold decision to diversify from the family import and distribution business into boutique hotels. Acquiring the Mineral Springs Hotel and Spa in 2016, it is a whole new generation of family business with Bobby and wife Chris, and their daughter Chancey, ensuring that the experience for guests is truly deluxe.
After finishing school at the Glen Waverley campus in 2003, Bobby went on to graduate from the University of Melbourne with a Commerce degree. Bobby credits his time at Wesley with helping him to form the attitude that drives him to this day; rallying after devastating bush fires, responding to the GFC or navigating the challenges of Covid-19 and statewide lockdowns. Bobby is passionate about sustainability and is focused on supporting Victorian producers and regional tourism, particularly in the Daylesford and Hepburn Shire. Guests will find magnificent products available at the Spa and modern Australian cuisine in the restaurant. And there are the stunning Italianate gardens and 38 elegant and contemporary rooms of the Hotel.
