Move aside Bell Shakespeare Company! Glen Waverley's Senior School has delivered a slick, fast-paced and uproarious rendition of Shakespeare’s 'The Taming of the Shrew', brimming with wit and energy.

While Shakespeare's original reflects Elizabethan gender norms, director David Dunn offered a fresh perspective, emphasising equality in the marriage of Petruchio and Katerina. The soundtrack, featuring hits from the 60s to 80s, added zest to the performance, with standout choreography by Keira (Year 11), who also played the role of Bianca, and a knock-out performance of ‘I want to rock and roll all night’ by Patrick (Year 10), complete with leather jacket and air guitar atop a four-poster bed!

From rock anthems to disco classics, the audience was captivated throughout. Congratulations to all involved in bringing this incredible production to life. The calibre of talent on display is worthy of a place on any professional stage.
