‘A Chorus Lion’ is the Wesley College Community Choir open to alumni, parents and friends of the College. Led by Doug Heywood OAM and with the support of our very talented pianist, Carl Stevens, the choir rehearses each Wednesday evening during term time in the Stillwell Recital Centre at the St Kilda Road Campus, singing a range of songs.

Leading the singing at Founders’ Day Lunch

An influx of new members has been a real boost!

Our first performance this year was in Fitchett Hall at the Elsternwick Campus on Wednesday 8 May where we performed some Hebrew songs as part of a Shoah Memorial Service organised by the Uniting Church, which Wesley is affiliated with. The following week, we lead the singing at the Founders’ Day Lunch at Kooyong, which is always enjoyable for both the choir and guests.

We have a couple of Aged Care facilities who have shown an interest in a visit from the choir, as music provides a real lift to their residents. We greatly enjoyed singing Christmas Carols at Sacred Heart Mission in St Kilda late last year.

If you have any suggestions of organisations who would enjoy a concert, or if you’d like to join the choir, please contact secretary John Milliken via choruslionwes@gmail.com

New members are always welcome!
