Founders' Day Lunch
After two long years, the Founders’ Day Lunch at Kooyong Tennis Club was able to return to our calendar on the final Friday of May. With approximately seventy OWs in attendance and Nick Evans’ first luncheon as Wesley College Principal, there was much to commemorate and celebrate.
MC Mark Hibbins (OW1978), Community Liaison OWCA, comically welcomed the crowd and after a few words from Nick and a delicious lunch, invited guest speaker, Andrew Westacott (OW1982), CEO of the Australian Grand Prix, to the microphone. Andrew shared many personal and fascinating experiences, touching on his time at Wesley with stories of his school days and how he transitioned into his varied and captivating professional roles. He also shared a little post-event commentary on the 2022 Grand Prix.
The singing, led by immediate Past President OWCA, Jack Ayerbe (OW1963) and 'A Chorus Lion,' the OW choral group, proved that the Wesley spirit is still well and truly alive with our Old Wesley Collegians.
