OW Bishop celebrates Golden Jubilee
Much admired New York Bishop, Andrew St John (OW1961), is even more celebrated now he has retired, having clocked up 50 years in the ministry in February. In recognition of this, the beautiful St Thomas Episcopal Church on Fifth Avenue held a special Golden Jubilee service.
Andrew described it as a ‘wonderful celebration, followed by a splendid lunch at the Rectory,’ made even more special as it was his first time robed and acting liturgically for over seven months.
Andrew was diagnosed with cancer last year and completed chemotherapy in March. His friends and family have been an amazing support and he is in physical therapy now. Our prayers are with him as things start to look up. We look forward to seeing him in Melbourne later this year when he plans to visit.
