Boarders come together for the LiR Social

Nearly 300 students from ten boarding schools around Victoria descended upon Wesley's Learning in Residence (LiR) for the LiR Social, organised by LiR Prefect, Tilly (Year 12).

Dancing, a photo booth, a lolly station and even a mechanical bull were among the highlights of the evening, which aims to solidify the boarding community by reuniting old friends from across Victoria and the world and bring new friends together. Wesley College boarder Hanson (Year 10), from China, even performed a rap song for the crowd!

The LiR Social is just one of the many social events provided within our busy after-school residential curriculum, which takes our boarders from study sessions and learn-to-drive courses held on campus to excursions to the footy, horse riding and the theatre.

Xavier (Year 9), from Wangaratta, says, ‘We often get referred to as our own big family, and the people in LiR truly made me feel like I’m part of one big family made up of staff and kids from all over the world.’
