A first for the Adamson Theatre Company, this St Kilda Road Campus Middle School play will be live streamed for one performance only!

Adapted for the stage by Mary Morris from the novel by Morris Gleitzman

Thursday 25 June, 7.00pm, online

Twelve-year-old Colin Mudford, as Aussie as they come, is determined to play a role in helping sort out (as you do) his younger brother Luke’s terminal illness. Sent to London while Luke is being treated back in Sydney, one of his options is to break into Buckingham Palace and ask the Queen for help. Rumour has it she is well staffed with good doctors. Problem solved? Not exactly, but thus begins a series of adventures and personal encounters that seem never to daunt the resourceful and resolute Colin, helped by his shy English cousin Alastair and a variety of other interesting characters with their own problems to solve. Life is like that, as Colin discovers. Her Majesty proves unhelpful, as does his predictably annoying English aunt.

This wonderfully entertaining and heart-warming (and funny) piece of theatre is adapted from the novel by Australian author Morris Gleitzman, whose works are a must-read for a certain age-level. Two Weeks with the Queen has enjoyed international success with young readers for more than thirty years. This play version has likewise been acclaimed all round the world. Its themes of determination, inventiveness and ordinary human compassion have resonated with audiences of all ages.

Tickets are $10.70 per household.

You will receive an email on the day of the event containing the link to view the live streaming.
