Big Bands by the Lake
Six of St Kilda Road campus’ jazz bands presented a scintillating night of swing, funk, soul and rock on Wednesday 9 October at the delightful venue ‘The Park’ overlooking Albert Park Lake.
Nearly 100 students featured at these final performances of the 2019 season for each ensemble, much to the delight of the large gathering of parents, relatives and friends of the musicians.
The participating ensembles were the Jazz Ensemble, Junior Big Band, Soul Band, Jazz Band, Stage Band and the renown Big Band. The Big Band program has been a tradition at St Kilda Road for over 40 years and continues to be a cherished element of the SKR Music School.
