Big Band at Night Market
Two weeks ago the St Kilda Road Campus Wesley College Big Band thrilled huge crowds at the Queen Victoria Night Market. The band performed a variety of swing, latin and a few pop music numbers over two energetic forty minute sets.
The biggest challenge of the night was fitting 20 musicians on a stage only 16 metres square, but somehow this physical tightness added to the musical tightness of the performance.
This was a fabulous opportunity to take our talented students beyond the school fence and share the great musicianship that results from being involved in our vibrant music program.
