The Wesley College Society of the Arts Acquisitive Art Prize was launched in 1996 and a prize has been awarded every year since, with the exception of 1998, when no prize was awarded and in 2001 when there was no Acquisitive Art Exhibition.
The prize was established to encourage students with artistic talent in the visual arts. It was hoped that recipients would continue their interest in art making after graduating from Wesley. Selected acquired works are displayed in and around the College as examples of student artwork to stimulate the interest of other visual art students.
