Supporting young minds during a crucial stage of development, our high teacher-to-student ratio provides students with the individualised care they need to flourish.

After Year 9, Elsternwick students continue to Year 10 at their choice of Wesley’s St Kilda Road or Glen Waverley campuses, where they are guaranteed a place. A comprehensive transition program supports Year 9 students in a confident start to Senior School.

Wesley's Elsternwick Campus was previously home to Cato College (formerly MLC) before merging with Wesley College in 1989.

Hear from our students

Students talk about their experiences at Wesley's Elsternwick Campus and the opportunities available.

The Elsternwick campus feels like a family. You get to know your teachers and peers on a deeper level, which helps develop relationships, not only in school – but for life. I always had someone to go to that I can trust and feel comforted by.

Emilie - Elsternwick Campus student

I loved the small, close-knit, community feeling. I had amazing relationships with all of my teachers throughout my time, who all became part of my support network during the rest of my schooling. I remember at Elsternwick feeling as though everyone is cheering you on, encouraging you to succeed and helping you on your journey all the way through.

Our facilities

From forming friendships and learning together, to realising and pursuing interests, our facilities provide an environment for children to discover who they are.

Wesley’s Elsternwick Campus has a long tradition of excellence in music, performing arts and languages and dedicates time and space to every area of learning. Students enjoy a spacious library along with facilities specifically designed for design, science, food technology, the arts and physical education.

Fitchett Hall

Fitchett Hall has been a centrepiece of life at Elsternwick for more than 50 years. Newly refurbished, the beloved hall is equipped with the latest lighting and audio-visual technology. This dynamic, multi-purpose space features retractable tiered seating, transforming the hall from an assembly or performance venue into a versatile open space, ideal for hands-on group learning.

The Arts

Students with a passion for creative and performing arts are well equipped to explore their talents at Elsternwick, with dedicated dance, drama and visual arts studios. For students with a special interest in music, The McArthur Music Centre provides engaging programs that cover all facets of music in group and individual lessons. Whether your child is picking up an instrument for the first time or building on previous knowledge, lessons at the music centre will develop their skills and confidence.

Sport

Whether playing alongside friends, developing skills, or partaking in competitions there is ample opportunity for Elsternwick students to be active. Our facilities include on-campus tennis courts, netball courts, an outdoor recreation area and sports hall.
